Napa Bistro Branding

North Carolina

In 1976, a blind tasting in Paris later known as the Judgment of Paris shifted the wine world. French judges, unaware of the wines’ origins, awarded top honors to Napa Valley vintages over France’s most celebrated bottles….that afternoon put Napa on the map.

Overview

Part of a family-owned hospitality group with more than two decades of success, the restaurant already had a loyal following, a beloved menu, and a thoughtfully curated wine list featuring both established and emerging producers. What it lacked was a unified identity and a cohesive guest experience. We developed a brand identity for Napa Bistro & Wine Bar, one strong enough to expand across the Southeast without losing its character.

Our concept, "The French Paradox," shaped every brand element. The logo and typography pair the refinement of a Parisian bistro with the ease of a Napa Valley farmhouse, echoing vintage French signage.

The wordmark and supporting type work together to create a look that feels polished, confident, and welcoming. The color palette blends warm, natural tones with soft green hues, echoing the restaurant's materials and atmosphere. The menu design brings in the whimsy of the 1970s through playful graphics, patterns, and layouts that reflect the era's creative freedom.

Together, these elements create a cohesive brand that feels rooted in tradition yet fresh and new.
